Pininfarina prototypes
BMC's association with Italian styling house Pininfarina culminated in two striking designs, but sadly, neither car ever entered production.
Other proposals were submitted for several subsequent projects, but by the end of the 1960s, it seems that the special relationship had come to an end.
BMC 1800 Berlina Aerodinamica
Had it not been rejected, this styling exercise from 1968 could have turned the BMC 1800 into a very stylish car indeed.

Jaguar proposals
Pininfarina was one of several Italian studios who submitted proposals for the XJ40 project in the 1970s. Later that decade they independently rebodied an XJ-S to create the beautiful XJ Spider.
Other proposals
Long after the heyday of the 1950s and 1960s, Pininfarina submitted a number of unsuccessful proposals for projects ADO28 and ADO88.
