Clive Goldthorp

News Editor

Clive claims that his interest in the BMC>MG story dates back to his childhood in the 1960s when the family's garage premises were leased to a tenant with an Austin agency. However, back in the 1920s and 1930s, his grandmother was one of the country's first female Garage Proprietors so cars probably run in his genes! Admits to affairs with Alfa Romeos, but has now acquired a rare 06/06 MG TF 135...

Contact Clive if you have any Jaguar, Land Rover, MINI or SAIC Motor/ NAC MG or Roewe related Automotive Industry news.

Richard Truett

US Editor

Currently an Engineering Reporter on the influential motoring title Automotive News, Richard Truett is a lifelong Triumph and Rover fan. Despite living in Detroit, his drive looks like it's forever Canley, with a collection of Triumphs to make any fan of the great marque go weak at the knees.

As he so elequently puts it, "In the States, if you drove an MG or Triumph or had a Rover sedan, you were part of a different crowd. You had friends everywhere you went. You thumbed your nose at the mainstream." And today, he also drives a Sterling 827, rebadged as a Rover. Good man...

Brian Gunn

Web and forum Editor

Brian is a mad-keen car enthusiast, as handy with a soldering iron as he is the mig-welder. Brian has owned nothing but British cars in his motoring career, but was briefly seduced by a Xantia Activa. Now very much back in the Rover camp, and is embroiled in planning the upcoming relaunch of this website...

Robert Leitch

Contributor

Robert grew up on a street in Glasgow where everybody seemed to own Minis, Minors and 1100s. The hands-on approach these cars required was the start of a lifelong fascination. Despite learning to drive in an ADO16, he confesses to a lifetime of automotive apostasy and an omnivorous interest in cars of all origins. An unexpected posting to Birmingham, for the two years before the axe fell on MG Rover, rekindled his interest in BMC>MG and a number of contributions to AROnline have followed.

As well as contributing to AR's forums, he writes his own 5ivegearsinreverse blog which he describes as 'automotive observations occasionally informed by an arcane body of obsessively-garnered knowledge, but more often simply by disbelief, bewilderment, and spite.'

As an associate of The Guild of Motoring Writers he has contributed to many publications, including AM, Automotivation and Business Monitor International. Expect to hear a lot more from Michael in the coming years...
