The Austin 1800 was launched in October 1964, with Morris and Wolseley versions following it into production. Its ungainly stance soon earned it the affectionate nickname 'Landcrab'.

Crayford 1800 Estate

BMC's own hatchback-cum-estate derivative of the 1800 never got beyond the styling studio, but enterprising coachbuilders Crayford Enginieering came up with their own version, using the standard car's side panels.
